Former President Olusegun Obasanjo in a statement contained in a report released by”Premium Times” on Sunday, 17th November 2024,stating that The INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu and other INEC ranking officials at the Federal ,State and Local levels should all be replaced.This action however caused a stir by Social media users.
Obasanjo in his report stressed the inefficiency of the Current INEC officials at all National level,he further declared this matter as one of Urgency and as an issue that shouldn’t be overlooked.
Furthermore,he stated that there should be immediate vetting conducted on the INEC Chairperson and his officials .He concluded his speech by harnessing the fact that through this ,the inefficiency of this officials would be proven.
